THE STATE OF OUR UNION DISUNION

The political battle against collective bargaining in State government that is happening in Wisconsin is coming to a State near you. It is a fight long overdue.

Even liberal minded States and their liberal Governors like Andrew Cuomo have no alternative but to try an address a budget shortfall created by unsustainable union contracts.

We have always heard the mantra by the left about the big bad corporations and capitalist businesses that without unions trample workers rights. We hear those same voices today still arguing this us against them mentality between the greedy and the seedy.

The problem is that the greedy and the seedy are not between business and unions but between unions and you the average State citizen and taxpayer.

There has been a long debate as to what has ruined many manufacturing and industrial jobs in America. Some say unions and some say over regulation by liberal legislators.

Equally the quality of our schools has been declining even though we spend more money on educating our children than ever before. Some say it is the NEA (National Education Association) some say it is administrative tampering by the Department of Education.

I say both of these factors have contributed to America’s industrial and education decline. Both are correct in that unions in the private or public sector have operated with a “taker” mentality and an entitlement mindset. This flies in the face of America’s long standing tradition of merit pay and individual work ethic. Unions have created an attitude of being owed that is the antithesis of a capitalistic system requiring that one earns.

Equally wrong has been the over regulation and bureaucratic interference by liberal legislation that has boxed in all notions of free enterprise and local control.

Make no mistake there is an unfair redundancy in America today between unions and a federal Labor Department. The argument made by unions in the past when there were no laws protecting workers from “sweat shop” abuse by business and industry no longer applies. The existence of unions today represents nothing more than a special interest gang of self-serving socialists that want more compensation for less work.

The American taxpayer is now the new boss being shaken down by unions and their long history of disreputable bosses like Hoffa. The new face Richard Trumka (AFL-CIO) is another union boss with a questionable reputation for thug tactics designed to intimidate.
The reality is that unions may have been at one time born out of need to insure that workers were not exploited but today they are the exploiters. They are the greedy. They are the seedy.

Seedy when they enlist corrupt doctors to write fake excuses for the teachers protesting in Wisconsin. Seedy when they expect the hard working non-union taxpayer that pays for their own healthcare and pensions to be billed for the union pensions as well. Seedy is when they indoctrinate and enlist the impressionable children in the classroom to fight for their selfish interests.

The protest of a special interests group (Unions) seeking to have special privileges (publically paid pensions) with special exemptions from laws (ObamaCare) with special presidential approval (Obama) is especially un-American.

The lack of personal accountability in American life and politics today has created a disconnect from the traditional values we once shared as a nation. The battle to restore our union is joined by the Tea Party Movement both on the State and national level. It will require hard work and sacrifices by the public, but then again Americans’ pioneer spirit has never been afraid of hard work.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS HALF “FREE WILL”

Free enterprise is a term that is used to describe business in America’s capitalistic economic system. The word “enterprise” refers to the producing and selling of goods and services in the marketplace under supply and demand’s intuitive gamesmanship. The word “free” refers to the freedom of business to not be restrained by government interference, regulation or subsidy.

Do we have free enterprise today in America when our government interferes, regulates and subsidies heavily in business? I contend as a number of economists and retired business people do that the “Free Market” or “Free Enterprise” is dead and has been killed slowly but surely in the death of thousands upon thousands of paper cuts.




Who in America today understands the four letter word that use to describe our religious, political and economic lives? Free was once upon a word in America we all understood because we lived it. It was not intended to be a qualified word but one that denoted a condition like pregnancy. An absolute state of condition as in one is pregnant or not pregnant for one cannot be half pregnant. Therefore how can we be half free? Is that like having my feet bound but my arms free?

Any Christian religious cleric would be able to explain the conundrum of why God just didn’t make humans in his likeness and thereby create a perfect world where evil does not exists. He or she would explain to you the concept of “free will” which allows us to choose the path of either righteousness or decadence. Some might view it as a test in the mortal world for one’s immortal soul whereas others might see it as a paternalistic trust in the likeness to which we were created. Either way we on earth as humans have been given “free will” not “half will”.


Equally our pious wise forefathers wanted to free the new American citizen from the shackles of restraint put upon them and others by the human enslavers of mankind. Prior to their assertion of inalienable individual rights one was a subject to State, crown or manmade body of governance and not free. Their logic was simple and humble. If the Creator who certainly had the power to control mankind had instead opted to grant us “free will” then what an arrogant notion it was for humans to claim ownership over the will of the individual.


The first commandment out of the ten guidelines set for mankind’s free will choice of behavior was to not idolize false gods. Paganism is not just the idolization of a statue but of imbuing mortal beings such as kings with the reverence reserved for God.


Therefore the subservience to the creator rested under one’s choice to abide by the Ten Commandments or not. This was why our founders adopted our system of governance based under the system of laws.




The Ten Commandments seem a paltry amount of moral laws in the governance of mankind’s myriad of choices between good and evil and yet they do cover everything. Believers see the creator’s superior handiwork in the Commandments but even the atheist can appreciate, if they believe they were written by Moses or another human hand that they are the perfect template to keeping their rights from abuse.

The difference and rightly so that Man’s laws are mutable whereas God’s laws are not, allowed both constant debate and expected perfecting to ensure a proper balance between constraint of freedom and chaos. Laws like the Commandments were seen as guidelines to either choose to abide by one’s fellowship in a community that required respect of each citizen’s rights or selfishly trample on another’s rights. The amount of laws along with the punishment and penalty was understood to be as light a touch against individual rights as was possible to bring civility while preserving freedom for all.


Today we have thousands upon thousands of laws governing our behaviors in the “land of the free”. We have lawmakers that show no restraint and have inundated us with regulations based on nothing more than junk science theory to control our very act of economic survival.
If our forefathers could rise from their graves they would be appalled and fall dead again into their coffins upon seeing America’s progression.


We are persecuting Judeo-Christian values in America today. We are controlling free thought and speech with political correctness and sophism in our media in America today. We have a government controlled economy that owns railroad and automobile companies in America today. We have more laws governing our everyday activities than even King George III could possibly have written if still alive in America today.


We are not free. We have return the shackles upon ourselves we fought so hard to escape from that were imposed upon us by the king. We have elected a leader (Obama) and given the reins of power to those (Democrats) that believe in complete opposition to individual inalienable rights (socialism) in America today.




We are in a state of unrest. We Americans have been in a “patient sufferance” for almost a century from a “history of repeated injuries and usurpations” by a Washington federal tyranny that has been flagrant in disregard to its constitutional boundaries as quoted in our Declaration of Independence.

We are confused, angry, partly to blame and wholly answerable to the next generation if we do not heed the call of our civic duty.
Free? Free Enterprise? Freedom? Liberty? These words were once the luxurious prize of calling oneself an American because these words were practiced and cherished. Today, these words are still here but their meaning is hollow, lacking any truth as with half pregnant, we in America are half free.

The chains that bind our freedom, strangle our economy, silence our right to speak and hear truth, belittle our right to display our traditional Judeo-Christian culture in the public square and dissolve our right to have government restrained by the intent of our Constitution have been caused by our own inattention. Our own misplaced trust in American representatives we assumed would never breech faith with the past sacrifices and struggles that then providence bless us to enjoy in wealth and wisdom.

We elected those representatives who have “free will” to make policy either by choosing to serve the people’s constitutional interest or choosing to serve their own corrupt selfish statist interests.
The good news for America and Americans is that we can return our freedoms. We can demand her principles be reinstated. After all it is recorded in history that it was America that exampled freedom in the world. It was America that freed the world. It was an America that saved the world.

America it is time for you to save America. Time for America and Americans to re-birth freedom as an absolute truth “we hold as self evident” and cherish with our “sacred honor” to insure its future remains as our duty requires us as free traditional patriotic citizens.

PUFF AND STUFF BUT THE SAME OLD FLUFF

The notion that President Obama is moving to the center is yet another falsehood out of the left’s political playbook. The President and the Democratic Party have been the purveyors of prevarication to try and change reality TV into perception TV.


All Americans know that words mean nothing unless backed up by actions. This President knows well that the overwhelming majority of Americans did not want the Healthcare Bill to pass yet he ignored us. Then when the voters gave him a “shellacking” did we see or hear a mea culpa from our ideological President? No in fact he is still trying to sell us his Healthcare medicine.

What more proof does any American need to clearly see this rouse, façade and political circus act that won this man a presidency back in 2008? He paraded around during his campaign with a moderate political face and told everyone what they wanted to hear. He promised to end earmarks, lobbyists, partisanship and create a transparent government.

Some Americans were fooled that this otherwise ultra liberal Senator meant what he said when he was preaching his resume sermon to them. After he was hired they found out that his references were false and his qualifications made him not only inept but counterproductive to the traditional American economic engine.

He had an out as to why he could not keep his promises, and a cadre of liberal minions to tout his out. It was all the failed fiscal policies of the Bush Administration and he inherited a mess from the right wing. Not only is this excuse no longer acceptable as it has been so overplayed, but a lie. Any American paying attention knows that the fiscal fiasco was an “IED” (Improvised Economic Development) plan by Bill Clinton and the Democrats to encourage low income home ownership that was long buried in the economic sands that blew up during the Bush presidency.


The only promise that this president has kept between his campaign speeches and his current leadership or lack thereof is transparency. That is of course, his transparency.

This president, who has fooled us once, wants to perform another trick. He wants us to be a compliant audience while sawing his presidency in half suggesting that his better half will now care about the “gun and religion clinging” masses.

He wants us to believe that he will be a friend of business and industry by reducing regulations while his Labor Department requires ipso facto card check policies and the EPA ramps up carbon emission controls. Are you clapping yet?

He wants to invest in education and innovation? Mr. President perhaps you should re-read the “flawed” Constitution that clearly leaves education in the hands of the States. Regarding innovation, well it would be quite innovative if you smoked in public rather than continue to blow smoke in our face.


Pardon us Mr. President but we Americans have heard your prophetic pronouncements before and they have left us confused as to whether you or the teleprompter leads this floundering nation.


We don’t blame you, for we gave you the reigns of a horse you cannot ride. We gave your our trust that you never promised to hold sacred. We gave you the power of the Bully Pulpit and you have bullied all of us who oppose your socialist, social justice anathematic to American principles.

We know who the real political victim is by both you and all the ultra left that follow you. It is the truth. The truth is the victim in America today. The truth is what Americans yearn to hear from their leadership. The truth has been co-opted by teachers unions, the special interest groups, the media, the Democrats and you Mr. President.


Enjoy your parlor tricks, continue the smoke and mirrors, keep blaming others and keep pretending Americans think rabbits hatch from hats.




To paraphrase Lincoln “you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

MASS MURDER HAS NO POLITICAL VOICE!

This mentally unstable individual that I will not give a name to other than to refer to him as a crazed gunman whether acting alone or not, has little to do with political rhetoric. The senseless acts of killing innocent people in a public gathering in Tucson Arizona (Saturday Jan 8, 2011) was not a result of the political dialog going on in this country.

When John Lennon was shot by another crazed gunman, influenced by Catcher in the Rye should we blame and call for the banning of the book? Was it the result of words in a book? When young teens kill themselves and write suicide notes reflecting lyrics from a heavy metal songs do we blame and ban certain music. Is it the influence of music lyrics that creates depraved actions?

The idea of violence in movies, books, television, video, and computer games might be appropriate to speak about in regards to keeping the very young away from a daily dose of desensitizing from violence but it never reveals the cause for disturbing deeds of destruction.

We would have to ban the Bible and Mozart because under that logic or should I say illogical rational anything that influences an insane person to commit murderous acts could be blamed.

So when we hear that some say the political rhetoric in this country is to be blamed for the sick twisted devilish acts of a deranged individual they are wrong. To those that want to blame guns and call for stricter laws to stop these insane acts are equally wrong.

Just taking away Hinckley’s copy of Catcher in the Rye would not have stopped him. Banning all guns never stops criminals from buying or finding them illicitly. Banning music, books and all other forms of violent, racy or tasteless media doesn’t solve the phenomena of mass murderers.

Toning down the political rhetoric will not stop the crazed maniac and it is not the cause of those acts of self-serving rage. I think that toning down the political rhetoric will serve our nation well. Unfortunately it will do nothing to stop these kinds of indefensible acts from taking place.
I take homage with those that want to change definitions and call this sick killer a “terrorist” or “domestic terrorist”.

To me a “terrorist” is someone that is rational in their hatred with cold blooded hearts spurred on by a group that is dedicated to killing innocence for their own political gain. Mass murderers that go postal in company offices, restaurants or any public places are deranged individuals seeking revenge and infamy; are certainly terrifying but are not “terrorists”.

If he turns out to be part of some militia group, skin-head group or other upside-down hate group that espouses killing innocent life for religious, political or personal revenge then it still has nothing to do with rhetoric versus actions. If there is found to be an organized group who gave money orders and backing to this idiot as a soldier to their detestable mission of death then we can say this was a “domestic terrorist act”. Until then this deadly act appears to be one or possibly two deranged animals preying on innocent humans.

We as traditional Americans understand that “stick and stones break bones” and regardless of the tone of the political rhetoric today “names will never” be the cause of why you are gunned down in the street by a madman trying to “hurt you”.

The President has called conservative Americans the “enemy” and he has called the Republican Party “hostage takers” and he has stated he believes our Constitution is “flawed”. As much as I find his rhetoric divisive, inflammatory, and uncivil for his position and disagree mightily with all of his political beliefs, I do not think the President or anybody from the left or right in this country’s current political debate is responsible for the sadistic killing of 6 innocent people because of their vitriolic rhetoric.

Traditional Americans and Judeo-Christian values do not condone violence for any reason, let alone political voice. We don’t “cling to our guns and religion” seeking to harm anyone or anything but rather to protect ourselves and loved ones.

When lone crazed killers pop out of a crowd, storm into an office building, run into a school, or quietly enter a fast food restaurant and start shooting innocent people it is horrific for those in the crosshairs and horrifying to all of us!

Why do some people act in this demon possessed manner? We all wish we knew. What can we do to stop this lottery of death to our daily lives and the lives of our loved ones? If we knew how to keep safe from all deadly fates we would.

The only lesson here is that life is precious and we wish Representative Gabrielle Giffords a full and speedy recovery. With deep regret, all our traditional American hearts go out to the victims and their families that were not lucky to survive this savage attack.

MUTINY BY THE PEOPLE OF THE FEDERAL BOUNTY

Well it was a great couple of days for traditional Americans to hear some rhetoric in Congress that was historic and inspiring. We have been forced to be cynical long enough and therefore it was a welcome and refreshing change. We the American people (deck hands) have declared mutiny over federal spending and succeeded to win the purse strings.


Don’t worry you may put away your umbrellas because I will not rain on the parade. I think we need to be positive before we bash the new crop of Washington politicians. I am willing to give them a chance before I quibble. I am willing to stay hopeful before I find problems. Let’s just say we have enough disappointment and discouragement maybe we can trust the new crew.


As a traditional American I am not speaking naively however as though there is halo on the heads of the 112th Congress until they act devilish. Call it instead a hiatus from rancor, or a parole form the disdain or a momentary pause in the tomato tossing at the pillory.


We all need to give them a chance, aware that we also did not give them total control. The Democrats still run the Senate while the White House last I checked still contains a very left from center President.

That means Healthcare will not be repealed but defunded. It means spending will not increase but government cuts will more than likely be resisted by the Democrats. The Democrats will be out of power to foist their programs upon us but they will play politics for the next two years on every proposal offered by the Republican House.

What will the President do? Well that should be an interesting matter altogether to watch, wait and see.

We know that the Republicans are promising to pull back the curtains on the Obama Administration and let the American people see the true conditions of the back room dealings regarding the many troubling scandals that were only hinted in the press. Letters to the President have already been sent by Representative Darrell Issa of California asking about the bailout of AIG, Acorn, and the Sestek scandal to name just a few.


I don’t think the President is looking forward to the scrutiny his administration will be under with the Republicans now holding the House keys. He seemed to already bristle at his perception that the Press was treating him unfairly, when we all know that they have done as much as they could to dress with pretty flowers his homely poll numbers.

It is ironic that in fact the Republicans might do more to give the American people the transparency that Obama promised on the campaign trail two years ago. I guess Obama was the using the word much like Nancy Pelosi does. She is seen as transparent by the American people when she claimed in her out going speech that her Congress had deficit reduction as a “mantra” of “Pay as you Go”. Really? I think Americans can all see right through Nancy’s transparent words as being the same stuff that rodeo hands use shovels to remove from the Bull’s pens.


Yes but back to positive thinking and the enjoyment we should all have as Americans to hear our Constitution read openly in the People’s House again! Worry not that some elected officials will be hearing it for the first time. Worry not that the interpretations will be tortured to mean something 180 degrees from original intent. At least it is being spoken in the Capital and echoing in the stale air of Washington again and that is quite an accomplishment.



Yes the Tea Party Movement and all traditional Americans should be proud that they stopped being cynical and disconnected from politics and stood up for restoring integrity in government.
We know this has been a long time coming and yet only one small step in taking back our government from all who have abuse their privilege to serve us, but instead served themselves. We should be proud of what we have accomplished but understand that the Captain (President Obama) and his bridge officers (Democratic Senate) still control half the ship.



We the People have made a wayward government tiller turn right but unlike the turning the axle of a land vehicle, the bulky “ship of state” has a slow response time. It will take time for all of us to see if her rudder is working and truly steers a more righteous course.

BUNKER HILL AGAINST CAPITOL HILL

The Tea Party movement is getting credit for stopping the Omnibus bill. Okay I will take that win. However, I for one did not like the compromise with the tax cut and unemployment extension. We failed to be one unified voice on that front. FreedomWorks and Americans for Tax reform were for it while most Tea Party groups were against it.

Dick Army and Matt Kibbe’s group FreedomWorks is a top down Tea Party group/PAC that does too much directing and not enough listening to average American concerns. My rub against this group is that they act more like a PAC and less like a grassroots group of average Americans freely voicing their opinions.


I wish not to bash these PAC’s but supporting the compromise hatched between the old Republican guard and the election losing president was a mistake from the gate.

The president and the Democrats lost the election! They lost resoundingly. They lost on the domestic front, with the condemnation of their fiscal policy being most prominent! Moreover, the president has shut the Republicans out of the room of negotiations, and the Democrats never allowed their ideas to even be put on the table of debate, for two long years!


Then the president, weak and yet still arrogant asks the Republicans for a meeting about a tax deadline about to expire that would infuriate voters even more if allowed to lapse. Sounds like ropy-dope, right? Sounds like the perfect time for Republicans to invoke a Nancy Reagan stance, “just say NO.” Moreover, what compromise? Let the Democrats vote to extend the Bush taxes while altering the bill to raise the rate on the rich. Americans know it will be another job-killer.

The new 112th Congress can step in and reverse the increase, and if they run up against a presidential veto so be it. Do you really think that the Democratic Senators staring at their 2012 elections futures would not jump away from Obama and join Republicans in overriding that veto?
No the Republicans old guard played political chess again between the need and voice of the American constituency and the political desires of their party power. How?


Well if the Republicans listened and were looking out for American interest they would have demanded from the president 3 things. One make the Bush tax rates permanent, two stop or find funding for unemployment that would not come out of business taxes and three abolish estate taxes and lower the corporate tax rate. What would the president get in this deal? His prize would be that he would enjoy the political capital from fiscal policy that would start creating real job growth in America and not smoke and mirror stimulus jobs.



Well let’s peek inside the minds of the Republicans first to see the political spinning wheels. The Republican Party still fears the Democrats will use vitriolic rhetoric to define them in the run up to 2012 elections. They are fearful that independent voters will believe the Democrats and the President if they are called “Scrooge” by not extending unemployment benefits during Christmas. They hate being tainted as the party of “No.”


The Republicans only pushed for a two year extension of the Bush tax rate so they could keep the political tax issues on the front burner for the presidential campaign. The Republicans are thinking the economy will start to improve and they can say to the American people “we kept your rates low” but the President wants to raise rates on the rich and kill American jobs. This political hot potato is what infuriates Americans about Washington politics.


Okay what is the President thinking? Well, pardon me if my Karl Marx is rusty, but here I go. I believe he is aware that he has lost the battle but not the war. He knows he will lose his re-election bid in 2012 if the economy doesn’t turn around, but he will also lose his base supporters if he caves in to Republicans. Therefore, by doing a deal with the Republicans to extend the tax rates, he tries to show that he is listening to the proletariat, (American workers) and their needs, but through no fault of his own is held “hostage” by the bourgeois. (The Rich) He gets to continue to demonize the Republicans to his Kool-Aid drinking base while also taking credit if the economy turns a corner. That is a win win for the President.


What is the Tea Party thinking? Well, along with Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman we are thinking forget the political games. The Bush tax rates should be extended indefinitely and voted on by an up and down vote without anything attached to the Bill. Then pack your Democratic bags and put your gavel in the draw 111th Congress and go home permanently.


All of this brings up the reason why the Tea Party Movement needs to grow their voice and get on the same political page. We are the Movement of common sense and reason in government. No more bailouts, stimulus, tarp, cash for clunkers and subsidized “couch potatoes” or unemployment benefits that now will be three years of paying idle workers with the cost born on American taxpayers and business.

Yes, we are not shy or ashamed to be the voice of reason as we invoke the tough love discipline needed in Washington by the word “NO”.

We are just the average traditional Americans fighting on the ground trying to bring a “bottom up” message to the “top” of Capitol Hill.
